“Let’s hear it! What’s your plan?” She ordered. “If you started a shop in America  . . you could sell your inventory for a lot more money. The exchange rate alone will make a big difference in itself. Let him produce your own clothing line, and you could even design it yourself.”

“Oh yeah, you got it all worked out . . . don’t you?” Her temper was increasing. She opened the door and stepped out into the stopped traffic.
She put her hands on the roof and leaned over looking into the car at me. Her hemline crept up as she bent over and the men in the car behind us were not complaining.
“YOU! You think you can get Lisa all set up and self-supporting, and then you don’t have to feel guilty as you blow her off and run back to America!” Her anger was reaching its peak.

“LISA! It’s not like that!” I injected. “Oh yeah! Send her home to take care of momma! Dump her back in her own country and you’re done with her. You had a few good months fuc*!ng the Costa Rican girl and got you a new sailboat! . . . Oh Yeah . . . time to move on now!”

Lisa had always felt . . . third world . . . . and I always had to be careful about things I said. She felt that I talked to her in a condescending manner when I was angry. She had no idea how much I envied and respected her.
I jumped out of the car and walked behind it smiling at the guys in the next car as I shook my head. I spun Lisa around and pushed her against the car. I put my face about 12" from hers.

“STOP! If you would just shut up and listen to me, you would see that there is a bigger picture involved here! I have no intention of leaving you here in Costa Rica. I want to help you get your business started and then we can sail all over the world getting new ideas for fashion as we go. You can email your designs back to Costa Rica and we just keep on going. We can travel, I can write my next book, and we can live happily ever after! GET IT?”
“Ever after?” as she calmed down.

Her facial expressions changed from anger to affection. “If you’d just controlled your temper I would have told you all of this!” I said.
“Ever after?” She repeated

HONK!!!!! HONK!!!!! HONK!!!!! HONK!!!!! Saved by the horns!
She started laughing as she noticed that the traffic was moving again. She kissed me very fast and jumped back into the car. I ran around the back and the guys in the car behind us clapped for me. I jumped into the car, as my door slammed and the tires squealed.

The contractions were increasing before I got the paperwork filled out, and they took me right to her and asked if I was the coach. We had practiced that, so I said,           “Yes!” and started doing my thing.
This was my first . . . delivery. I didn’t let it show . . . . but I was nervous. I had several, three-second, flashbacks of things that I had told my friends over the years.

“Oh hell no! I don’t want kids. I love my life style”
“Married . . . . Oh hell no! Do you expect me to keep sleeping with the SAME woman?
I would go insane! Do I look like a mini-van Daddy to you? Ha . . . Ha!”
“KIDS!!!! Oh hell no! I’d have to sell my sailboat! You KNOW, that’s not going to happen.”
     An hour later . . . . or maybe three hours later . . . . I was introduced to;
Daniel Michael Bradford . . .The future heir to my throne!

After super I sat on the couch and watched the Jefferson’s in Spanish on the TV.  Lisa sat in the floor between my legs, leaning against the couch.  I massaged her shoulders as she played with my legs.  Momma Saborio spent more time giving us both dirty looks, then watching TV.   We grabbed a passionate kiss in the hallway before going to our separate bedrooms for the night….  AAAahhh!
Monday morning, before sunrise, Lisa snuck into my bedroom.  She woke me up with a kiss and I ran my hand up under her dress.
“Noooo!”  She whispered, “I have to go to work. I will be home about 6:00.”

I grabbed her and pulled her onto the bed. She pounded on me and wiggled her way to freedom.  With a big horney smile on her face she wiggled her finger at me and pulled the door shut.  I heard the car start and disappear down the road.  I slept a bit longer until I heard Momma Saborio cooking breakfast.  I got up and went into the kitchen.  She handed me some toast and butter and motioned for me to help.  I got to work and in a few minutes she was making jokes about me that I didn’t understand, and laughing.  I think she thought that I may be a resident son in law in the learning stages.  Loren’s boyfriend showed up in time to eat with us, and then he took Momma into town for… something?

I did the dishes after they left and went back into my bedroom.  I closed the blinds on the window, and went back to bed.  I was awakened by the sound of a car coming up the dirt road.  It stopped in front of the house and then it left again.  I lay in bed listening as someone entered the house.  The door did not even have a lock on it!  I heard the door shut and footsteps walking around on the wood floors. They came down the hallway, the doorknob turned, and Lisa quietly came into the room.  She looked at herself in the full-length mirror on the back of the door. She unzipped her dress and placed it on the dresser.  She stepped out of her heels and slowly slipped off her stockings.  She walked back over to the mirror. I slipped out of the bed and quietly came from behind her.  I grasped her hands and raised them over her head, against the door, as I pushed my body against her back.  She screamed and squirmed. I held her solid.  I let her turn to see me and kissed her on the lips.

“I am so horney!”  I said, as I released her hands and grabbed her hips.
“She raised her knee and flattened my balls. I fell onto the bed trying to breathe.
“WHO ARE YOU?  AND WHY ARE YOU IN MY BEDROOM?” She asked. Her eyes flashed with anger.
I was totally confused.
“LISA!  Have you lost your mind?”  I said still trying to catch my breath.
She stood looking at me with a blank look on her face.
She slowly formed a familiar sinister smile, and sat on the edge of the bed.
“I am not Lisa….  I am Loren!  Lisa and I are twins! She giggled and quickly put her dress back on.
I rolled off of the bed in my boxer shorts as LOREN…. went into the kitchen.

pg. 108.

“David and I came out here today and fished right here.  We had a really good time and I could not believe how well we get along.  He's a smart kid!”  I looked back down into the water.
“He should be… he has a very intelligent father!”  She said sweetly.
“Yes… you and Andres are great parents.”  I said.
I looked at Loren. She was shaking her head back and forth at me.
“You are so damned blind!”  She said, as her attitude did a 180.

“Where did that come from?”  I asked.
“Haven't you noticed that David's hair is a little bit light for a Costa Rican child?”
“Yes… but I thought maybe it would darken with age.”
“No stupid…. have you noticed that he has flat feet?”
The color suddenly left my face.  I stared at her and could not speak.
“Yes!...  The answer to your question is yes!”  She said.
“How?”

She giggled a little bit and stared me in the eyes.
“Well… other than the obvious answer…  I have learned that Costa Rican birth-control pills don't work on Americans, evidently.”  She giggled a little bit more.
“I don't want anything from you, and I couldn't be happier that I have such a beautiful son.  I just thought that it was time that you knew.  Someday he will figure it out himself and we will have to deal with this.  I just wanted you to have advance warning and time to think about how you will handle it.”  She said, as I stared into her watery eyes.

At sunrise Daniel and I were airborne to Costa Rica. I carried my disposable phone and my regular phone, in my laptop case. It was on my left shoulder, and the baby stuff in a bag on the other shoulder, with Daniel in my arms. We hit the tarmac in Limon by 3am and I called Loren on my regular phone to pick us up.
She was confused, and wanted to know where Lisa was. I convinced her to wait until we get to the house and put Daniel to bed.
Daniel went right to sleep, and we all sat at the kitchen table as I told the story. The crying was intense as I told them that I need them to be strong. Loren was immediately in, because this man that I wanted to erase was the same man that kidnapped and beat her years ago. Momma was a bit reserved, but agreed when she realized that Lisa had been kidnapped, and raped when she was young and then years later murdered by this man. I flipped open my laptop and hooked it into Loren’s Router. We clicked onto the live camera and the Uncle Tom appeared in Real Time on my screen. I laid the disposable phone on the table and explained that this will ignite that! as I pointed to the freighter.
“We just want him! So we have to wait until he goes to bed” I explained.
“I have a man working for me as we speak. When the phone rings and stops, we are ready to go. So for now we just wait.” I walked into the living room as Momma and Loren stared at the screen.
When the phone rang… RRRRING….. RRRRING… and then stopped, I knew Michigan was on the plane and everything was ready.
The screen showed it getting dark in Florida, and I couldn’t call the other phone until Captain Raymond goes to bed. We watched the monitor as we saw people leaving the boat and the Captain turning off the lights. He stayed in his room until late watching TV and finally got up and went into the bathroom, turned off the lights, and went to bed.
We all looked at each other and I started dialing the number on my key pad. I hesitated at the last number and waited………. as I looked into their eyes.
“What’s the last number?” asked Loren.
     “Seven”
She reached across the table and pushed 7.
Nothing happened for a few minutes and as I started to get worried, his cabin glowed like the sun from inside it. The camera went to static as it couldn’t handle the intense light. We stared at the computer screen as it finally came back on, to show the center of the metal roof melted into a hole above Raymond’s Cabin. As the intense light faded to flickering flames, the entire ship exploded and the flames danced on the water as the surrounding boats moved away to a safe distance.
